PRO CE DURE
1. This test uses a double-tube assembly (1161) consisting of a
calibrated square tube which slides up and down within a larger
round tube. Remove the square tube and cap and fill the round
tube to the top line with the sample water.
2. Add one Cyanuric Acid Tablet (6994). Cap the round tube with
solid cap and shake to disintegrate tablet. Disregard solid
particles that settle to the bottom after the tablet disintegrates.
Turbidity indicates the presence of cyanuric acid.
3. Replace the solid cap with the square tube cap assembly. The
square tube will slide up and down through the cap attachment
and will fill with liquid.
4. Viewing from above, adjust the square tube in the turbid
solution until the black dot on its base just disappears. Hold the
round tube near the top with thumb and forefinger to avoid
blocking light.
5. Read the height of the liquid in the square tube against the
scale on the side of the square tube, which is calibrated directly
in parts per million cyanuric acid. A reading between two values
on the scale may be estimated.
For readings above 100 ppm, repeat the test on a diluted sample. Fill
the round tube to the lower line with the sample then add tap water
to the upper line. Follow Steps 2 through 5 and multiply the test result
by 2.

PROCEDIMENTO
1. Neste kit utilizam-se dois tubos transparentes (código 1161),
um deles é quadrado e o outro redondo, com três marcas.
Encha o tubo redondo com água da amostra até à marca
superior.
2. Introduza uma pastilha de análise de ácido cianúrico (código
6994) no tubo redondo e tape-o com o tampão que não tem
um orifício. Agite até que a pastilha se dissolva. O
aparecimento de turvação indica a presença de ácido
cianúrico.
3. Retire a tampa sólida e coloque a tampa que tem um orifício.
Introduza o tubo quadrado pelo orifício. Este tubo quadrado
tem um orifício muito pequeno e um lateral por donde entrará
a água.
4. Visto de cima, terá que introduzir o tubo quadrado no redondo,
até que não se veja a mancha negra do fundo. Segure os
tubos com dois dedos pela parte da tampa para não bloquear
a luz.
5. O resultado lê-se com a altura que o líquido tenha alcançado
no tubo quadrado, que possui uma escala com a concentração
de ácido cianúrico em partes por milhão ou mg/L. Se a leitura
está entre os dois valores, faça uma estimativa.
Para leituras acima de 100 ppm, repita a análise com água diluída:
Encha o tubo redondo só até à linha inferior com a água da amostra
e complete até à linha superior com água da rede. Siga os passos de
2 a 5 e multiplique o resultado por 2.
O valor óptimo da medida para o ácido
cianúrico é de 30 a 100 ppm.
